Have you ever fantasized about living on a remote island?  Or, have you wondered what transportation might have felt like thousands of years ago?  Here is your chance to experience a rare opportunity!  Les Cheneaux island archipelago has unique Great Lakes marshes, bays and forested and limestone cobble features.  Let us show you the unique ecology and history of the Les Cheneaux Island’s while we paddle to inner bays and remote islands.  Opportunities to view uncommon natural habitats and wildlife are the trip highlights.  We will enjoy our evenings with fabulous dinners and a sunset hiking excursion.  The accommodations are at a comfortable island camp.  The camps’ back door is a lush experience of an enchanting cedar forest, fens, and long stretches of isolated cobble and sand beaches.  Give yourself a day to explore on your own by planning a fifth night to your stay.  This trip is perfect for retreats!

Highlights - Hiawatha National Forest.  Les Cheneaux Islands - Marquette Island.  Planked whitefish cooked over a campfire.  Views of Mackinac Island.

Trip Instructors and Guides - Resident Biologist, Outdoor Recreation Specialist.

Start Location - Hessel, Michigan in Mackinac County.

Grade - Some kayaking experience necessary for the scheduled trip.  During the summer months you don't need prior kayaking experience.

Provided - Option A. 3 nights/4 days, 8 meals. Option B. 4 nights/5 days, 10 meals. Kayak/paddling gear and instruction. Snacks.
